Christian Dior







                 Christian Dior


          Christian Dior was born on January 21,1905 Granville, France. When he was young his family moved to Paris, France and even though he was interested in arts and architect his farther pressured him into joining Ecole does Sciences Politiques to begin working in political science with hopes that he (Christian) would become a diplomat. After his graduation in 1928 he opened a art gallery which showcased the great work of Pablo Picasso and Max Jacob. He had to close his art gallery in 1931 when his brother died and his fathers buissness went bankrupt. He would sell his fashion designs to make ends meat and in 1935 he shot a job Illustarting the magazine Figaro IllustrĂ©. 

     Several years later Dior landed a job as a design assistant to Robed Piguet. When WWII came around he served south of France as a officer in the French army. Following Frances surrender to Germany in 1940 he (Dior) returned to Paris where he was hired by Lucien Lelong were they designed dressre for the Nazi women and French collaberators. His sister (Catherine) was apart of the French Resistance and later captured and sent to a concentration camp until she was later released in 1945.
          
        In 1975 he died to three heart attacks at the age of 52 (may he rest in peace).

  Louis Vuitton was born on August 4, 1821 in Anchay, France. At 10 years old his mom passed away and his father remarried. In the spring of 1835 at 13 years old Louis Vuitton ran away from home and never looked back. He was seeking Paris and after more than 2 years of  searching and taking in jobs as an apprentice to Monsieur Marechal  he arrived to Paris in 1837 at the age of 16 years old. Sixteen years after he arrived to Paris Napoleon III hired him to make boxes for his wife. 

   In 1854 he met his ,then, 17 year old wife Clemence-Emilie Parriaux and married her months later April 22, 1854. A few months later he opened his own shop in Paris. In 1858 he officially added a new product to his line. Unlike all the other round like trunks his was rectangular and is credited to how luggage looks today. He opened a new store in 1859 in Asnieres. In 1870 his business was put on hold in the middle of the Franco-Prussian war. When the war ended in January 28,1871 he came back to Asnieres the town and his store was destroyed. He rebuild his shop and went back to business. 

 He died on February 27,1892 at the age of 70 but his legacy still lives on today. R.I.P. Louis Vuitton.
